Tommy Johnson's 8th grade History class at Mena Middle School held a Constitution Poster Event on Friday, November 1st in the library. Ms. Cortez Copher and Ms Shelly Collins from the James K. Polk Chapter of the DAR were invited to come see the posters and visit with students. The students had previously studied the United States at the end of the Revolutionary War as well as the US Constitution.and the Bill of Rights. The students participated in discussions and exercises that emphasized the freedoms outlined in the Constitution and the impact on our society today. The posters displayed the rights and freedoms enjoyed by generations of Americans.
