Over the past few days, I have received questions regarding Lifetouch and online claims connecting the company to Epstein-related documents.
At this time, I have seen no credible evidence of misconduct involving student photographs in our district. The concerns circulating publicly relate primarily to corporate ownership associations rather than documented misuse of images.
However, student privacy and community confidence are priorities at Mena Public Schools. For that reason, effective immediately, we are suspending all upcoming Lifetouch photography activities until further credible information becomes available and our review process is complete.
During this time, we will review our contract, request additional written assurances regarding data privacy and security, and consult with legal counsel as needed.
This suspension is a precautionary step taken out of respect for our families and staff. We will provide updates as more verified information becomes available.
Sincerely,
Lee Smith, EdD
Superintendent
Mena Public Schools
