
Junior and Senior boys finished this week playing over 24 games between the two teams at the Northwest Arkansas Shootout in Fayetteville! Thank you Jimmy Jester for your hospitality and Smitty’s Garage of Fayetteville and Rogers for sponsoring a meal for both teams!


The resurfacing of the floor in Jim Rackley Gymnasium at Mena Middle School is complete!


DeQueen, Horatio & Mineral Springs were at Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium on Thursday for the Mena Jr. High Football Team Camp. The Bearcats will scrimmage Mansfield on August 15th & the season opener is August 31st against Centerpoint.

Today members of the Mena Bearcat Basketball team came to Homelife Academy for sports week!
These guys had a busy morning playing games, having fun, and throwing water balloons with our summer camp!

The Mena Public Schools would like to welcome new staff for 2023/2024. Including CODY KOCH at Mena High School. The first day of the new school year is Wednesday, August 16th.


The Mena 7th grade cheer squad attended the Varsity Stunt Clinic in Hot Springs on Monday!

The Jr. High Cheer Team attended the NCA Camp at UALR recently and came home with the following awards:

3 Squad members nominated for All-American Cheer : Rayleigh Goodnight, Sophia Cummings, and Serenity Fraser
The girls learned and grew tremendously during our time at camp. We are so excited to see what they learned put to work this season!


The Mena Varsity Cheer team and the Junior High Team attended NCA Team Camp at UALR. At camp the team learned new content, stunt skills, and competed in a GameDay competition where they won 2nd place in the Band Chant in their division.

MENA BEARCAT SPRING SCRIMMAGE !
Mena football played their spring scrimmage at Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium on Tuesday. The 2023 season will honor the memory of Nature Brown. 2023 would have been Nature's senior season. The Brown family was recognized at halftime and were given a football signed by the entire team.


The Frank Mosley Outstanding Girl Athlete is a longstanding award given to our most outstanding and deserving Senior girl athlete. These athletes must be involved in multiple sports and display great character in the sport, their school and the community. The award is voted on by the head coaches from each sport, the athletic director, the assistant athletic director, high school principal and a Mena Public School Staff Member. This impact that this year’s winner has had on Mena athletics will be felt for many years to come.
This year’s Frank Mosley award winner is a 4 sport athlete who excelled on the field, court and in the classroom. She not only is a leader within each athletic program that she participates in but she is also involved as a student leader on the campus on Mena High School involved in FBLA,NHS,NEHS,STUDENT COUNCIL AND JAG. She will also be continuing her athletic career at the next level, signing a letter of intent to play collegiate softball.

This impact that this year’s winner has had on Mena athletics will be felt for many years to come.
This year’s James C Copher award winner excelled in both Football and Soccer all while maintaining a strong GPA at the top of his class. He is also a member of the JAG competition team which competed in Orlando this spring.

The Mena Little Ladycat Basketball Camp came to a close on Wednesday. The camp was open to 1st-7th grades.
