Day two was tough for the Mena Bass Cats at the13th annual High School Fishing World Finals and National Championship. Austin Rose & Jarett Burger weighed in one fish weighing 2 pounds 9 ounces for a two day total of 10 pounds 13 ounces.

The Mena Basscats are in the hunt after day one of the High School National Championship Tournament. Jarrett Burger & Austin Rose weighed in a three fish limit that weighed in at 8 pounds 4 ounces. Wednesday was the first day of the Little Cats Basketball Camp at the Union Bank Center. Coach Randy Peters & the Bearcats put camper thru their paces. Those left handed layups were a challenge.. GO BEARCATS!!!

Hello my name is Zen Valencia I went to high school at Hackett High school not too far from Mena. I graduated from Arkansas Tech with my Social Studies education degree. Spent a year in South West Arkansas coaching and Teaching at Lafayette County. This is my first year coaching Wrestling but I cannot express how excited I am to start this program. I am also an assistant football coach with the senior high football team, and Defensive Coordinator for the junior high. I Love being outdoors and am truly blessed to be apart of this district, community, and group of coaches! Go Bearcats!

The Jr. Ladycats had their last day of basketball for the summer today at the Morrilton Team Camp. Coach Goss said "I couldn't be more proud of the JR Ladycats this month. They have worked extremely hard every day and shown tremendous growth."

An extensive paving project began on Monday at Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium. BCBS will remain closed to the public until the project is completed.
The Sr. Ladycats are headed home after three days at the Harding Team Camp.
The Mena Jr. Girls wrapped up the Harding Team Camp on Tuesday. Coach Goss said, "I saw tons of improvement and I'm very proud of their effort these 3 days."

Conference alignments have been approved by the Arkansas Activities Association board of directors for tennis, golf, baseball, softball, track & field and soccer for the 2022-24 competition cycle.
Baseball, softball, soccer and track & field conferences are tentative as spring sports have until Dec. 1 to declare.
It was announced previously that Mena basketball would be moving to the 4A-4 as well & Mena football will be moving to the 4A-7....

The Whitt & Watkins Basketball Academy began on Thursday at the Union Bank Center. The morning session is for 1st-8th grades & the afternoon session is for 9th-12th grades. It continues on Friday & Saturday. GO BEARCATS !!!
Mena Ladycat KENSEY ROSSON has been named to the SBLive All-State Softball Team. Rosson will be a Jr. in 2022/2023 & had .618 batting average with 1 homerun last season.
