The Bearcats play again on Tuesday 3/16 at Fountain Lake!
The Mena Basscats competed in the Arkansas Youth Fishing Federations National Qualifying Tournament on Lake Greeson on Sunday(3/14/21).
Austin Rose and Jarrett Burger won 1st Place in the High School division.
Rose and Burger had a great day of bass fishing. Their five fish limit weighed 16.12lbs. They caught the biggest Bass(4.12lbs) and separated themselves from 2nd place by over 6 pounds! This puts Burger and Rose one step closer to Qualifying to compete in the High School National Championship. Thank you to all of our Sponsors. The Basscats will be back on the water Saturday March 27th for the Trader Bills Tournament on Lake Ouachita.

Mena's struggles at the plate continued on Friday. The Bearcats were shut out by Malvern 0-10. The boys will play at Horatio on Monday.

The Ladycat basketball season came to an end on Friday in the quarterfinals of the 4A State Tournament. Mena lost to Farmington by a score of 47-72. Gracie Lyle led the Ladycats with 18 points. The Mena girls finished a great season with a 22-4 record. GO LADYCATS!

The Bearcats gave up three early goals and couldn't overcome the deficit in a 1-4 loss to Heavener on Thursday. Mena is back in action on Monday the 15th when they host Centerpoint at Bearcat Stadium.
Bauxite requested a schedule change next week & in order to make that happen the Horatio game also had to be moved. Here is the Mena baseball schedule for next week.

Mena High School Journalism 2 students are producing a video promo for the Special Olympics "Polar Plunge" Water Balloon Fight that will be taking place on the MHS front lawn on Saturday, March 20th. BOBBY WALLIS stepped up & volunteered to be the target of over 200 water balloons on Wednesday. They did three takes, and he walked away drenched, bruised, and with multiple welps on his body. Bobby's leadership in planning, communication, management and determination to make this a fun and memorable school year have been crucial to other events as well..

Heavener has cancelled today’s girls game. The boys will play at 6pm in Bearcat Stadium.
The Mena Ladycats will play Farmington in the 4A State Tournament on Friday. Farmington defeated Southside 59-45 on Wednesday to advance. The games are being played at Morrilton High School & tipoff will be at 4:00pm.

The Jr. Ladycats won the Dequeen Cub Relay Track Meet on Tuesday. Reese Montgomery won High Point Honors.

Mena scored 11 runs in he first inning & cruised to a 14-4 win over Hope on Tuesday at Union Bank Park. The Ladycats had 23 hits on the night & improve to 2-2 on the year. Mena is back in action on Friday at Malvern! GO LADYCATS!

Austin Rose and Jarrett Burger placed 6th at the Arkansas Student Angler Federation State Championship held on Lake DeGray on Sunday 3/7/21.
They will be back in action this coming weekend on Lake Degray and Lake Greeson. With the lead in the Arkansas Youth Fishing Federation points standings, Rose and Burger are hoping to finish strong and qualify for the High School National Championship.
Mena Cheer is in Star City supporting the Ladycats in the 4A South Regional.
