HHE Teammate Award Winners for this week are Jasper Holt, Camden Hostetler, Makenzie Holder and Hadara Torres.
These students will be bat girls and bat boys for the Ladycat softball and Bearcat Baseball games on Friday.

4th grade continued their health and fitness lesson by starting their morning with a walk!
Special education teachers recently attended their 2nd round of Training of Trainers, The training was held at the Dawson Educational Cooperative in Arkadelphia.
These trainings are a designed to equip district educators to support other educators in their district around inclusive practices.

Mr. Vince Coleman with Arkansas Trucking Academy talked to a group of 5th graders at Holly Harshman Elementary about truck driving on Friday. The lucky students were even able to take a ride around the bus loop. Coleman is also a bus driver for Mena Public Schools. Thanks Vince!!
Bridget Martin introduced members of the Ouachita Beekeepers Association to Holly Harshman Elementary 4th graders on Friday. The students learned the ins and outs of bee keeping.

Isaiah demonstrated a positive attitude, reliability, helpfulness, and a willingness to learn. He will be the water boy for Bearcat Soccer on Thursday.
HHE started their tennis unit today. We saw lots of future tennis pros.
Our 2nd cohort group has completed their time at the Arkansas Leadership Academy ! WE are so proud of these hard working teachers and are so excited about things to come! From this experience, our Parent Engagement task force has been born! ☺️

Our SPOTLIGHT ✨✨TEACHER for the Month of March is Mrs Sara Paraons!! Sara is a 3rd grade Math/Science teacher @ HHE.
The HHE third grade teams competed in the Battle of the Books at the DeQueen/ Mena Education Service Cooperative on Friday.

The Mena Middle School Project Prevent Team chose to celebrate Read Across America week by reading to the 5th grade students at Holly Harshman Elementary. The Team read Smoking Stinks!! by Kim Gosselin. After reading, team members talked about the dangers of tobacco/nicotine use as well as the many opportunities to celebrate being tobacco free waiting for them at Mena Middle School next school year. The 5th graders were invited to participate in the statewide Project Prevent "My Reason to Write" Essay Competition.
One of this week's Holly Harshman Elementary Teammate Award Winners, MADISON PHILLIPS, was the honorary team captain at Tuesday's Ladycat softball game.
