
Mena High School hosted the Special Olympics Basketball Skills Competition in the Union Bank Center on Friday.

The Mena FFA CDE Teams competed at the AR Alumni Contest in Hot Springs on Thursday.

Food Science- 5th Overall Team, Layla Walker- first contest, placed 11th overall
Forestry- 6th Overall Team, Waylon Head 3rd place individual
Horse- 8th Overall Team
Nursery Landscape- 7th place Overall Team
Vet Science- 5th Overall Team, Allison Howard 2nd place individual
Wildlife- 3rd Overall Team, Dax McMellon 2nd place individual
These contests are preparing our students along with after school practices for our Southern District Contest that is March 12.

The steel framing for the new Hensley Activity Center arrived Monday morning. The building is expected to be complete by the start of the 24-25 school year.


Ladycats competed at the 1-5A South Regionals today and overall as a team finished in 6th place in confrence, 5 out of 7 girls qualified for the state tournament! But all of them have shown incredibly growth and improvement!

The 2024 Wrestling regular season came to an end on Thursday.. The Mena Bearcats won both duals to Lonoke and Pulaski Academy, but fell short to CAC, the Mena Bearcats will be competing at Lonoke High School next Saturday (17th) at regionals for a shot at state!
We also had a wrestler get their first win by pin which was an awesome team experience and this picture taken by Jessica Anderson shows the togetherness of these boys and girls. Go Bearcats!

Mena Wrestling competed at the 4A Dual State Championship in Pottsville on Saturday. The boys beat Berryville, had a tough loss to Gravette, followed by a win over Central Arkansas Christian, before losing to Shiloh Christian Mena Bearcat Wrestling finishes 4th in state.


The Advanced Animal Science class at Mena High School enjoyed a tour of Maye Club Lambs farm and was educated on how the operation functions. This time of year is very busy with lambs being born daily and intensive management required.

Today, eleven Mena High School students participated in the UA Rich Mountain's Experience the Power Career event! They dove into technical and trade programs, exploring careers in Welding, Machine Tool, IT, EMT, Phlebotomy, LPN, Cosmetology, and Massage Therapy.

Mena Boys and Girls wrestled Bauxite, Glen Rose, Ashdown tonight, Our Boys won their duels! And the girls tied Bauxite. I Cannot express how far these young men and women have come since the beginning of the year and are really hitting their stride at the perfect time!

This morning Mena FFA Greenhand members received their FFA Jackets! This is just one of many steps in their journey in FFA. And will be something they wear in competitions, to conventions, and camps!
