Today is Inclusion Day.
Many Mena High School Students signed the Pledge to Include on Wednesday. A promise to combat the hurtful and dehumanizing effects of exclusion.
“Spread the Word for Inclusion” is the global campaign that promotes inclusion for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It encourages schools, organizations and communities to pledge their support to include all people in all activities. It also reminds people, that though those with disabilities may be a little different, they are just like everyone else.
Make the pledge to start being inclusive today…
· Be a teammate.
· Be a friend.
· Welcome someone who has been left out.
· Sit next to someone alone at lunch.
· Say hello to someone in the hallway.
