The early bird registration deadline for FBLA district conference is this Friday (earlier than previously announced). If you want to wear the new District FBLA t-shirt to the conference and not business attire, please bring your registration money to the meeting tomorrow. The FBLA meeting will be in Room 401. To be able to attend the district conference, you must also be a current FBLA member. There is a QR code outside Room 202 to sign up using a Google Form and the $20 dues can be given to Mrs. Torix at any time.
Students, please be aware that once you enter the gate for home football and volleyball games, you are not allowed to leave or go to the parking lot and come back into the facility. Once you leave the gate, you are making the decision to leave the ball game for the night, and you cannot pay to re-enter either.
The chess club will have its first meeting on Friday, September 17 during enrichment. We will meet in Mrs. Labertew’s room, room 206.
Students, you can purchase your homecoming dance tickets, powederpuff entry, and your DodgeFest team fees with Mrs. Ashcraft. Dance tickets are $10 each. The dance will be Saturday evening, September 25, from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. (No ticket sales on Monday) Also, today is the final day to order a homecoming t-shirt. See Mrs. Ashcraft by 2:00.
This year we are happy to announce we are able to provide you with after school library hours and tutoring. The schedule for this is:

Tuesday: Ms. Catlett 3:30 to 7 pm

This is time that you can use to study, gather for a group meeting, use our new makerspace, or get help with assignments.
If you sign up for it before the end of school, snacks will be provided. Saturday tutoring must be signed up for by Friday, the google form can be found in your “Class Of…” Google Classroom.
Math tutoring will be each morning from 7:15-8:00, and each Monday- Wednesday after school until 4:15.
Ms. Hendrix will be tutoring after school on Thursdays until 5:15.
The cast of The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood is posted outside Ms. Kropp’s classroom. Cast members please be sure to join the Remind group and get a script today. The first practice will be Monday from 6:15-8:30 pm in Ms. Kropp’s classroom.

Seniors Pictures retakes and make-up picture day will be Monday, September 13. For any seniors who did not get their pictures taken in July, we will need to get your pictures done on September 13, even if you don’t plan to purchase any of the photos. These photos are needed for the yearbook, as well as other school related purposes throughout the school year. See Mr. Philpot in room 205 for more information. If you plan to get retakes next Monday, please notify Mr. Philpot by the end of the day today.

Several Mena Bearcats are among the statistical leaders this season according to Max Preps.
Austin Rose is 3rd in the state in passing. Rose has completed almost 70% of his passes for 558 yards in the first two games.
Caleb Peters is 7th in the state n receiving. Peters has 14 catches for 203 yards thru two games.
Jarrett Burger is 13th in the state in tackles. Burger has a total of 21 tackles in the first two games.

Mena Coaches select #33, Jayden Felix, as the Farm Bureau Insurance Player of the Week vs. Clarksville.
Jayden is a Junior running back / linebacker for the Bearcats. He had 1 receiving touchdown and 1 rushing
touchdown with over 100 all- purpose yards on offense and 2 tackles for loss, defensively. His efforts helped lead the
Bearcats to a comfortable 38-14 victory over the Panthers. Mena’s off to a great start, at 2-0 for the year!
Jayden is the son of Walter and Misty Felix and is one of eight children, having 2 brothers and 5 sisters.
His hobbies are primarily football, off season conditioning, and X-Box games. After graduation, Jayden hopes
to continue to play football at the college level, as he pursues a degree in Accounting.
This week, Mena will travel to Hot Springs to take on the Hot Springs High Trojans, who currently stand at 1-1 for the season.
Mena lost a close game to the Trojans last year and Jayden and the Bearcats will be up for a little payback come Friday night.
