The Bearcats gave up three early goals and couldn't overcome the deficit in a 1-4 loss to Heavener on Thursday. Mena is back in action on Monday the 15th when they host Centerpoint at Bearcat Stadium.

Mena High School Journalism 2 students are producing a video promo for the Special Olympics "Polar Plunge" Water Balloon Fight that will be taking place on the MHS front lawn on Saturday, March 20th. BOBBY WALLIS stepped up & volunteered to be the target of over 200 water balloons on Wednesday. They did three takes, and he walked away drenched, bruised, and with multiple welps on his body. Bobby's leadership in planning, communication, management and determination to make this a fun and memorable school year have been crucial to other events as well..

Heavener has cancelled today’s girls game. The boys will play at 6pm in Bearcat Stadium.


The MHS Student Council collected baby wipes and diapers to donate to Fresh Start Pregnancy Center for their spring community service project! The StuCrew is excited to serve our community!


The Mena Ladycats will play Farmington in the 4A State Tournament on Friday. Farmington defeated Southside 59-45 on Wednesday to advance. The games are being played at Morrilton High School & tipoff will be at 4:00pm.

Mena High School will be hosting a Spring Gala for all Juniors and Seniors on April 24th at CMA Iron Mountain from 6-8:30pm. The night, which will reflect "A Walk Down Memory Lane" will include a formal dinner and entertainment. Senior tickets are $15 and junior tickets are $30 and can be purchased from Ms.Hughes

The Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) recently
honored students for their exceptional performance on the SAT, ACT, or similar assessment.
Mena High School freshman HUDSON VACCA has been honored as one of the brightest young students in the world by the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth.
Vacca received a High Honors Award for exceptional performance in SAT, ACT or similar assessment taken as part of the CTY Talent Search.
CTY uses above-grade-level testing to identify advanced students from around the world and provide a clear picture of their true academic abilities. More than 16,000 students from 66 countries tested with CTY in the 2019-20 Talent Search year. Less than half of CTY Talent Search testers qualify for CTY High Honors Awards. Honorees also qualified for CTY’s summer, online, and family programs, through which bright students can form a community of engaged learners with other bright students from around the world.

Mena scored 11 runs in he first inning & cruised to a 14-4 win over Hope on Tuesday at Union Bank Park. The Ladycats had 23 hits on the night & improve to 2-2 on the year. Mena is back in action on Friday at Malvern! GO LADYCATS!


Mena pitching gave up only 3 hits but the Bearcats couldn't generate the runs needed in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to Hope at Union Bank Park. The Bearcats are 2-3 on the season & will play again on Friday at Malvern.
