The state has announced that they will no longer give guidance to schools for handling positive COVID cases and that all we'll get are CDC guidelines.

So, how will Mena Public Schools approach things?

We will return to our illness practices prior to COVID and that is to stay home if sick and to be fever free for 24 hours without medication before returning to school. We won't quarantine, won't require testing without consent from the parent, and won't require masks. We will send sick kids home, test if wanted, let students and staff wear masks if they feel it necessary, and offer vaccinations when we have the opportunity.

As always, thank you for your patience and cooperation.
