Mena Coaches select, #82, Mason Brotherton, as the Farm Bureau Insurance Player of the Game for Week #10 vs. Lamar.
Mason is a 6’4”, 235 lb. Senior, Tight End / Defensive End , for the Bearcats this season and had 4 receptions for 81 yards
last Friday night against the Warriors. Two of those catches were quite spectacular, as the Bearcats went on to defeat Lamar by a final score of
35-24. That victory gave Mena its’ first, out-right Conference Championship since 1996 and a first round bye in the State Playoffs .
Mason is the son of Christy Harrison and Greg Brotherton. He is also the grandson of JV and Paula Brotherton and Beverly and the late
William Harrison, all of Mena. Mason will continue his football career next year at the University of Kansas as a Jayhawk, under former LSU
Head Coach, Les Miles. Mason plans to remain involved in the game of football after college as a coach.
Mason and the Bearcats will host the winner of this Friday nights’ contest, between Arkadelphia and Star City, on November 20th.

The Bearcats claimed the 4-4A Conference Championship Friday night at Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium. Mena defeated Lamar 35-24 & will be a one seed in the playoffs. GO BEARCATS!!!!

Mena Sr. Boys will run at the 4A State Meet at Oaklawn in Hot Springs beginning at 9:45am. Kickoff for the football game is at 7:00pm in Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium.


The Jr High Basketball season begins on Monday, November 9th. Due to social distancing requirements, all home games will be played at the Union Bank Center at Mena High School. There will be no basketball games in Jim Rackley Gymnasium at MMS. With these being indoor events, mask requirements will be strictly enforced. If you attend basketball games, wear your mask.

There will be a limited number of tickets available to the general public that can be picked up at the Central Office on Friday 11/6 from 8:00am to 3:45pm. You must wear a mask to the Central Office when picking up tickets.
The visiting team and fans will enter the stadium through the large gate at the Northside of the stadium.
The visiting bleachers have been marked off to ensure proper social
distancing. Please wear your mask and social distance while attending the game
Visiting fans must present their tickets and pay at the gate.

The Basscats were in action on Lake Millwood this past Sunday.
They were competing in the AYFF Four States Bass Classic sponsored by Bradford Marine. Bradford Marine is the main sponsor for the Arkansas Youth Federation Team Trail. Austin Rose and Jarrett Burger took 6th place and caught the Big Bass for the tournament. Cooper Plunkett & Brady Montgomery also competed.
The Basscats will be back in action December 5 on Lake Millwood for the Trader Bills High School Tournament Trail Series.
