Due to a scheduling conflict, there will be no 7th grade game this week. We will look to add a game to replace it in the future.

The Mena Ladycats hosted 14 hour volleyball marathon Saturday at the Union Bank Center.. ten teams battled thru m pool & tournament play & the Mena Varsity walked away with the big trophy after beating Ashdown in the finals.... The Mena Junior Varsity also had a good day .. The JV lost to that same Ashdown team in the Semifinals.. The Mena Jr. & Sr. teams will host Booneville on Monday in the UBC starting at 4pm..

The Mena Bearcats jumped out to a 15-0 lead & lead the entire game until Prescott tied the game with a field goal with 2.4 seconds left in the game... Mena scored a touchdown & extra point in overtime.. Prescott answered with a touchdown of their own but the Mena defense stopped the wolves on the 2 point try & held on for a 36-35 win... Mena will play at Hot Springs on Friday the 13th.. GO BEARCATS!!
Mr. Charlie Baker passed away recently. Baker was a deputy sheriff & long time member of the chain gang at Bearcat games... His family was recognized in a ceremony Friday evening before the Mena/Prescott game.. Rest in peace Charlie..

The first cross country meet of the season happens on Tuesday, September 10th... Th Lions Club Invitational Cross Country Meet Hosted by the UA Rich Mountain Bucks!
The meet will take place on the Lions Club Golf Course located on Lions Club Road off of Hwy 71 S in Mena, AR.

The 2019 Mena High School Homecoming Court was announced this morning at the first pep rally of the new football season. The homecoming court, determined by student votes, is:
Seniors: Kiara Kesterson, Paige Evans, Skylar Smedley, and Amy Thompson.
Juniors: Allie Martin and Marissa Ortiz.
Sophomores: Sarah Grenier and Cassidy Ashcraft.
Freshmen: Kate McDonald and Emmi Hines.
Homecoming 2019 will be Friday, October 4.
