Students in Mrs. Williams’ literacy classes read with flashlights around the darkened classroom in cozy spots after finishing their daily assignments and weekly tests. The quiet setting and change in atmosphere was just the right touch to make independent reading a more ‘Novel’ -exciting -feel.


Mena hosted the Area 14 Special Olympics on Wednesday at Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium. Mena students attended the opening ceremony and volunteered at the event that featured athletes from around the area.


The HHE Student Showcase was a huge success. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported our students!

The Mena Middle School Project Prevent Team is reading the book Smoking Stinks by Kim Gosselin to the 5th graders at Holly Harshman Elementary this week. The team is encouraging the class of 2030 to remain nicotine free. The Team also challenged the HHE students to enter the 2023 My Reason to Write essay competition.


The Holly Harshman Elementary leadership team attended “The Conference of Collaboration: Evidence Based Practice for All” in Pine Bluff this week.
