If you live in Mena you are at the core of the FM101 listening area but you can also listen beyond the city limits & over a significant part of Polk County. Your reception will depend on surrounding terrain & the quality of your receiver. Be sure to tell your friends about the new & improved FM101. GO BEARCATS !!!

Holly Harshman Elementary is recognizing college and careers on the first Monday of every month. The University of Arkansas Rich Mountain provided t-shirts to the faculty and staff. Teachers are also having pennants made of their alma mater. Students are encouraged to also wear college or career shirts of their choice on the first Monday.

Bridget Martin with the Polk County UA Extension Service presented a hygiene lesson to 5th graders today. Samples of hygiene items were supplied by Walmart Community Foundation Grant. 5th grade is learning how to take the best care of their body physically, academically, mentally, and emotionally.

Parents who are curious about the "Test to Stay" option for students who are close contacts to remain in school need to know that it is not automatically in effect. It is going to take a couple of weeks for the state to prepare schools for this. We will inform parents when it becomes an option.
