StuCrew and BFI are sponsoring a Spirit Door Competition! Each Enrichment class will decorate their door for Homecoming Week. Surprise judges will be brought in to judge them and the winner will be announced next Friday!
The FBLA Fall Conference date has been changed so registration is open again if you would like to attend. The new deadline is Oct 2nd! Cost is $15 to attend and receive an FBLA t-shirt
FCCLA dues are $15 and need to be paid by October 8. Bring your dues to Mrs. Hobson or Mrs. Wilson.

For anyone in grades 9, 10, and 11, as well as faculty that did not get their school day picture taken yesterday with Lifetouch, there will be an opportunity this afternoon to get your photo taken for the yearbook still. Please listen to paged out to the middle school safe room when it’s time for the high school make-up pictures.
Anyone interested in joining Sci-Fi Club this school year, there will be no dues this year, just sign up with Ms. Hooker to join! Even Blended students will have access to the Google Classroom.
The free Flu Shot Clinic will be on Thursday, October 15, here at Mena High School. Forms have been distributed, and they are due back by this Friday, October 2 for those who would like to receive a flu shot. If you still need a form, see Nurse Bobbi Baker.
Wednesday, September 30 - University of Arkansas college representative will be in the PAC during enrichment for any senior and 1-4 periods in JAG classes.
Thursday, October - Arkansas Air National Guard will be in the band room during enrichment for any senior and 1-4 periods in JAG classes.
TECH college representative will be rescheduled for a later time.

Congratulation to Austin Rose and Jarrett Burger who won the Arkansas Youth Federation Team Trail Bass Tournament on Lake Hamilton this weekend... They also captured the Big Bass award... Go Basscats!


Gavin Hooper grabbed a touchdown pass from Max Montgomery as time expired & lifted Mena to a 28-21 win at Waldron. The Bearcats improve to 2-3 / 1-0.

School day pictures with Lifetouch will be on Monday, September 28, for grades 9, 10, and 11, as well as faculty. This will be the only school picture day Lifetouch plans to offer to Mena High School this year, so we need everyone to be at school that day to get their photo taken for the yearbook.

Virtual, blended, or non-enrolled students have to sign up for meals every week. Meals may be picked up at Louise Durham Elementary or Mena High School on Fridays between 1 and 2pm. The form will need to be filled out by 2 pm Thursday for meal pick up on Friday. Follow the link to fill out the form for October 5th-9th.

The Mena Bearcats play at Waldron Friday night. Kickoff is at 7pm. Remember that tickets will be sold first come first serve at the gate. Only 128 visiting fans will be seated in the stands. If you are not lucky enough to get one of those seats you can stand or bring a lawn chair


The Jr. Bearcats lost to Waldron by a score of 0-42 at Bearcat Stadium Thursday. Mena will host Pottsville on October 1st.

Representatives from the Dequeen Mena Educational Service Cooperative are working with teachers at MMS & MHS today on technology related questions. They will be on campus at HHE & LDE on Friday. Mena teachers are always looking for ways to improve & make the learning experience as good as it can be.


Congratulations to Mrs. Patricia Jackson for receiving the September Teacher of the Month at MHS. Mrs. Jackson’s students have described her as compassionate, understanding, helpful, and inspiring. Her classes are fun and she has never-ending energy to motivate her students to do their best and succeed. Mrs. Wilson’s Orientation to Teaching and Child Care Guidance Classes have chosen one teacher or faculty member to honor each month. Mrs. Jackson will receive a certificate and a sweet treat from Sassafras Cakery.
