There will be a spring football parent meeting at 6:00pm on Tuesday, February 25, at the Mena High School Performing Arts Center. This meeting is for all guardians of incoming 7th grade through high school athletes. The summer schedule will be handed out and discussed.

JAG Work Applications (upcoming juniors and seniors) are available for next year's JAG Work class. Priority deadline is this Friday, February 21.
If you did not order your 2020 Yearbook yet, this week will be your last chance to place an order before all final orders are submitted for printing on Friday. Yearbooks are $60, and can be ordered with cash or check. See Mr. Philpot in room 205 for more information or to place your last chance order.

The Mena Ladycats lost to DeQueen in the 7-4A District Tournament Finals on Saturday by a score of 26-33. Mena will play in the 4A Regional Tournament in Crossett on Thursday 2/27 at 4pm. GO LADYCATS!


Mena High School students visited the UA Fort Smith campus International Students Open House today.





The Mena Ladycats will play DeQueen in the 7-4A District Tournament Finals on Saturday in Malvern. If Mena wins they will play in the 4A Regional Tournament in Crossett on Wednesday 2/26 at 7pm. If not Mena will play on Thursday 2/27 at 4pm. GO LADYCATS!


The Benefit Game at Mount Ida will NOT be played Monday 2-24 due to weather and field conditions. The current plan is to play the game on Tuesday 2-25. Hopefully we will get good enough weather to get the game in.

The James K. Polk Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution named Mena High School senior FAITH CHANEY their 2020 Good Citizen during a meeting at the Polk County Library Thursday night.. Regent Cortez Copher also announced that Chaney had claimed first place in Arkansas & will be honored at the DAR State Conference on Saturday, March 21st.

The Mena Ladycats have advanced to the 7-4A District Tournament Championship Game with a 48-46 win over Nashville Thursday.. The girls will play the winner of the DeQueen/Bauxite game in the finals on Saturday at 6pm in Malvern,, GO LADYCATS!

We had less than 50% of the Senior Class complete the ballot the first time, so the yearbook staff has a revised Who’s Who Ballot that all Seniors need to complete by the end of the day Friday. The results will be part of the 2020 MHS Yearbook.

By advancing to the semi-finals Mena has also secured a spot in next week's 4A South Regional Tournament at Crossett.

Students: If you are coming in late to 1st period, you must go to the office and sign in, teachers, please send them to the office to sign in if they don’t have an admit slip (either white or blue). Also if you are coming in at the end of 1st period, you will still receive an unexcused tardy. Also, this does not just pertain to 1st and 2nd period, you will only get an excused tardy if you have a doctor’s note.

There is a mandatory meeting for all who are trying out for cheer during Enrichment today. If you are planning on trying out for the 2020-2021 Cheer squad, you must attend the meeting or speak with Coach Hughes in advance if you are not able to attend.


Assistant Superintendent Paulette Sherrer presented the Mena School Board with a proposed school calendar for the next two years that had the approval of 92% of the staff. The board Unanimously approved that calendar for 20/21 and 21/22.
