Gameday Friday!

There will be a coat drive in front of Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium this Saturday, December 14th. This is the first annual Coat the Cold event. They will be collecting new and gently used coats, jackets, hoodies, gloves, scarves, and hats. All gently used items will be laundered before disbursement. All items that are received as a donation will be distributed throughout the local schools for children in need, the remaining items will be donated to those in need, as needed.

Thursday, December 12, 2019 Library closed for Lunch B today. Lunch Menu: Thursday, December 12, General Tso’s, Hamburger Friday, December 13, Crispitos with Cheese, Pizza Burger Weekly Activities Thursday and Friday, Dec. 12 & 13 is a free clothing swap. Students please bring any gently used clothes or shoes that you no longer need. Thursday, 12-12, FBLA and FCCLA will have their combined Christmas party in the cafeteria during Enrichment. Friday, Dec. 13, Sr. Basketball vs. Hope 6:00 Friday, Dec. 13, Sci-fi and Art Club Christmas party! Don’t forget to pay dues before you come! Friday, Dec. 13, Jersey Dance after the home basketball game in the middle school safe room. It will cost $5 to get in. Fruit money deadline is Thursday, December 12. See Mr. Collins or Mr. Maye. STUDENTS: LEAVE YOUR BLANKETS AT HOME. WE HAVE PLENTY OF COATS IF YOU HAVE A NEED, JUST SEE MRS. THACKER. HOWEVER, DO NOT BRING BLANKETS TO SCHOOL. Students: If you need to know your lunch balance, please go see Mrs. Jennifer We have Gatorade, Water, Chips, Beef Jerky and Rice Krispy Treats that are available for purchase if you have money in your lunch account. Students you must get a juice and/or fruit at breakfast. FRESHMEN are not allowed to come to the library during Lunch for the remainder of the semester due to behavior. Students are not to be in the hallways during Lunch A or Lunch B. The library, cafeteria, or patio are available areas during lunch. Students taking classes with UA Rich Mountain who borrowed a book please return the book to Mrs. Thacker before you leave before the holiday break. FBLA members who plan to compete at the spring leadership conference need to see Mrs. Lindsey or Mrs. Torix for a permission slip. These and $20 are due Friday, December 13, if you intend to compete. All students will attend their regularly assigned enrichment class for the remainder of the semester! EAST students participating in the Veterans' Christmas Party must: Return signed Permission Form to Mrs. Lunsford by Wednesday Eat First Lunch Meet Mrs. Lunsford at 11:45 am in the Middle School EAST Room High School Band students will not attend due to Band Concert practice.

The Administration Office of Mena Public Schools would like to thank the individuals and community organizations who are making contributions this holiday season to "Feed A Bearcat". Sherry Newman, Kim DePriest, Superintendent Benny Weston, Paulette Sherrer, and Suzanne Bentley choose to annually donate to the student fund at Christmas time. The Mena School District "Feed A Bearcat" Program aims to provide wrap around services to our students in need. These services are offered on an individual basis as needs are identified and include the backpack food program, personal hygiene items, clothing, school supplies, extra-curricular student expenses, and assistance with lunch account balances. The Mena School District appreciates the generosity of our patrons who are able to donate items or monetary gifts to our students through this endeavor to meet our local needs. Members of the Mena Baseball Team helped serve Christmas Dinner at Louise Durham Elementary today. GO BEARCATS!

The Mena Sr. Basketball Teams hosted Hot Springs Lakeside at the Union Bank Center Tuesday Night. The Ram's took all three contest... Mena lost the JV Girls game 13-15 in overtime. The Varsity Girls lost 48-54 & the Bearcats lost 27-51.

The Jr. Ladycats & Bearcats played at Arkadelphia Monday. The Jr. jv girls won 20-12, the Jr. Girls won 32-23 & the Jr. Boys lost 37-41. Mena will play next on Monday 12/6 at Cossatot.

The MHS Family and Consumer Science Department prepared and donated pies to the Charlie Company 1/153 Regiment Annual Christmas Party this past Saturday. We are thankful for their service!
