Transportation Supervisor James Davis says the Mena School District's busses are ready, routes have been planned and inspections passed in preparation for the 2023-2024 school year.
He asks that all area drivers remember that school busses will be back on the streets and highways transporting students to and from school beginning August 16th.

Teams from Hackett, Mansfield, Mt. Ida, Fountain Lake & Cossatot River participated in the Mena Jr. High Team Football Camp at Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium on Thursday.
The Jr. Bearcats will play a scrimmage at Mansfield on August 15th and the season opener is August 31st against Centerpoint at BCBS. Check the complete 2023 schedule at the link below.

Mena High School and Mena Middle School teachers attended a workshop in Jacksonville, AR this week for Arkansas. Arkansas Advanced Initiative for Math and Science, Inc., (AR AIMS), is an organization affiliated with the National Math & Science Initiative. AR AIMS opens the door for all middle school and high school students in Arkansas to reach their academic potential by offering high quality, student centered teacher training and support to empower teachers to become more effective in advanced instructional methods and strategies. The Mena Jr Ladycats and Coaches put on a volleyball clinic for the Cossatot Jr Lady Eagles on Tuesday. We all had a blast and loved their enthusiasm to learn. Good luck Lady Eagles during your first volleyball season!

The ADE Summit gives participants the opportunity to attend sessions on a wide range of topics. With access to exciting presenters while learning about innovative programs and much more!

Members of the 6th grade beginner band class are excited for their first day of band camp at Arkansas Tech University. This is a time honored tradition that has been going on or 60 years.

Mena School District is proud to recognize Mrs. Lauren Frost in being selected by the Arkansas Leadership Academy for the Teacher Leadership Program. The Teacher Leadership Program prepares participants for leadership roles in their school, district, region, state, and nation, without having to leave the classroom. Participants who complete the program have the opportunity to add the designation of Lead Professional Educator to their Arkansas Educator License. Mrs. Frost is the Family and Consumer Science teacher at Mena Middle School and a part of the new Project Lead the Way initiative that will begin in the 2024 school year. Congratulations Lauren! We are proud of you!


Mena Public Schools counselors attended the ArSCA Conference this week! You don’t have to wear a cape to be a hero…you just have to care!


Mena Counselors brought a HUGE amount of pop-tops to the ArSCA Conference that will be donated to Arkansas Children’s Hospital! Thank you to all of our families who sent pop-tops to the schools! WE all can make a difference together!


Mena Middle School teachers Sarah Billings and Lauren Frost attended Project Lead The Way’s summer training in Indianapolis recently. They are excited to offer a variety of STEM classes for MMS students this school year.
