The Jr Ladycats had an excellent offseason this spring. Coach Fryar and Coach Goss saw tremendous growth mentally and physically from the girls. They held a Meet the Challenge Competition at the end of offseason. The events include bench press, squat, power clean, push press, vertical, mile, 400 M Run and a 100 M Sprint. The girls who scored an 80% or better Met the Challenge. The Spring Queen scoring the highest percentage was Karley Sharp.

Tiffany Luttmer's students at Mena Middle School have been doing STEM activities all week with Brian Schuller from DMESC. He brought drones, 3D pens, merge cubes, makes makeys, spheros, snap circuits, and coding activities. The kids have had a blast!

Samantha Breedlove’s students at Mena Middle School are finding new & creative ways to learn. Today it was a Grammar Whodunnit. Students searched for clues and answered grammar related questions to find out who injured the contestant in a game show.

A big shout out is appropriate for some of the most important staff members at Mena Public Schools on National School Nurse Day!!!

Mena Middle School 8th Graders were guest of the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain on Monday. It was College & Career Day & the students were very attentive. They were greeted by UARM President Dr. Phillip Wilson. UARM staff were there to answer all questions as these students begin to think about their future.

The Mena High School Student Council spoke to eighth graders at Mena MIddle School on Thursday. They were encouraging them to be a part of the organization when they transition to MHS next year.

Mena Middle School Band Director Tyler Huntington was a guest at Holly Harshman Elementary on Wednesday. He was there recruiting 5th grade potential musicians to be a part of the MMS Band next year.
Attention Mena FFA High School and Middle School Members: Next Tuesday, May 11th is our annual FFA Banquet. This event will take place at the Ouachita Center on the UARM campus. We encourage you to bring your Parents/Guardians to this event. Remember this is a formal event and if you have official dress you need to wear it! If not then wear business causal dress. For guys that means slacks or khakis, dress shirt, shoes, and tie. For girls that means skirt or dress slacks, blouse, close toed shoes, or a dress.

Mr. Pete Rose is leading a hunters education course in the Mena High School Performing Arts Center on Monday & Tuesday. Many students are taking advantage of the opportunity.

Mena Middle School students had an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors on Friday. It was Fishing Derby Day at UA Rich Mountain!!!

5th Grade Students at Holly Harshman Elementary got familiar with Mena Middle School today. They learned what will be expected of them & toured the facility in preparation for their transition to 6th Grade.

The Mena Middle School Bands Spring Concert was held Tuesday night at the MHS Performing Arts Center. There were performances by the beginning band as well as the 7th-8th grade band under the direction of Mr. Tyler Huntington.
Mrs. Kristy Cogburn is pleased to announce that the Spring Choir Concerts will be on Thursday, May 20 in the Performing Arts Center. Middle School Choir will begin at 6:00pm and High School Choirs will begin at 7:00pm.
