I. We hope everyone enjoyed their 3 day weekend. Please remember to follow all mask and social distancing guidelines. Also keep in mind that we have several hand sanitizer stations located throughout the building.
II. From Coach Rose: For any student interested in getting information about the Mena Basscats Fishing Team, there will be a virtual meeting tonight at 7pm. Use the link below to access the meeting. III. You have all done a great job throwing away your trash during breakfast and lunch. Keep up the good work.

Two volleyball games that were cancelled recently due to weather have been rescheduled.
Booneville @ Mena 7th,Jr, & Sr. is now Sept. 22nd
Mena @ Lakeside Sr. is now Oct. 19th


Virtual & blended students will have to sign up for meals every week. Meals may be picked up at Louise Durham or High School on Fridays between 1 and 2 pm We are no longer allowed to serve on the SSO option so meals will be charged to the student’s account, as though the student was in school, based on their Free/Reduced/Paid status. Attention Mena High School and Middle School FFA Livestock Exhibitors: If you made the premium auction on Friday September 4th. Please bring prepackaged snacks and canned drinks for the auction.


The DeQueen vs. Mena 7th grade & junior high football games that were scheduled for tonight & cancelled will be played on Monday, October 5th. GO BEARCATS!

Mena Public Schools will be open & students will return to class on Thursday September 3rd..

The beginning band parent meeting that was scheduled today at the Mena Middle School is cancelled. It will be rescheduled at a later date.


After consulting Polk County leaders about road conditions and seeing the rain forecast for tomorrow morning, Mena Public Schools is announcing that it will close tomorrow, September 2nd, for the safety of all students and employees. This will be an AMI day.


Mena students showed goats & sheep at the Polk County Livestock Show on Monday. Cattle will be on Wednesday & swine on Thursday at the Polk County Fairgrounds.

Due to dangerous water levels and the threat of more heavy rain, Mena Public Schools will be closing all schools and releasing students this morning at 8:30. All after school activities are cancelled, as well.


The Jr. Bearcats knocked off Mansfield 16-6 at Bearcat Stadium Monday. Mena starts the season 1-0 & will host DeQueen Thursday at 6pm. GO BEARCATS!!!

The 7th grade Bearcats sprinted to a 28-6 win over Mansfield Monday. Mena begins the season 1-0 & will play at Lamar on September 17th. GO BEARCATS!!!
