🏐 **Tournament Recap!** 🏐 Our Jr. V Ladycats showed heart and determination at this weekend's Jr. Lady Eagle Invitational Volleyball Tournament in Paris! 🥉 After finishing 3rd in their pool, including impressive wins over Bauxite and Paris JV, they swept through the Silver Bracket 🏆, defeating Paris JV again and Ozark for the championship! 💪🔥 Our Jr. JV team also took the court, battling against Trinity Christian, Paris, and Ozark. Though they faced a tough first-round loss to Ozark in Silver Bracket play, they grew stronger as the day went on. So proud of both teams! The Mena Bearcats Improved to 3-0 with a win over Stigler OK. on Friday at Bob Carver Bearcats Stadium. Mena Bearcats-38 Stigler-20 Mena has a bye week coming up and will return to action on September 27th at Pottsville.

Matt Thomas State Farm week 2 player of the week is Senior Reese Montgomery! Reese had 61 kills, a 51% kill rating, and 21 blocks in week 2. She is an absolute beast! Please help congratulate a job well done to Reese!

Twelve of our Mena High School AE students reached their goals this week by being respectful, staying on task, and turning in all assignments. To celebrate, they enjoyed an hour of Yoga with Ms. Claire Williamson from the Extension Office, where they learned to calm their nervous systems and practice deep mindfulness. We also want to give a special shout-out to two students who went above and beyond their weekly goals and are making great strides toward their quarterly targets! Eva Hart and Audrina Dominquez have shown incredible achievement, motivation, and kindness.

The Mena basketball and football teams participated in the 9/11 Stair Climb at Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium on Wednesday. The event honors and remembers the victims and heroes who died in the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001

Mena Middle School 7th graders discussed hydration on Wednesday. Thank you U of A Polk County Extension Office for the new water bottles.

Day three of Grandparents Week at HHE was a success.

Patriot Day, observed on September 11th offers a significant opportunity for our students to learn about the events of 9/11 and reflect on its lasting impact. Our young patriots read books, listened to read alouds and learned about the unity, resilience and compassion that followed in our country!
