Thank you, Mena Fire Department, for showing us fire safety in such a fun way!

We Read Wednesday: Ms. Holland, our 7th grade literacy teacher, is an avid reader. She loves fantasy and her favorite author is Sarah J Mass. Although we do not have that author in our library at this time, Mrs. Holland can recommend quite a few other great fantasy books that are similar. Ask her about them next time you see her!

The Holly Harshman Elementary teachers and staff love reading, book talks, and sharing many of their favorite titles with you. Jill Newbolt, a HHE 5th grade Math teacher, would like to share one of her favorites with you-The Invention of Hugo Cabret - by Brian Selznick.
“Orphaned and alone except for an uncle, Hugo Cabret lives in the walls of a train station in 1930s Paris. Hugo's job is to oil and maintain the station's clocks, but to him, his more important task is to protect a broken automaton and notebook left to him by his late father. Accompanied by the goddaughter of an embittered toy merchant, Hugo embarks on a quest to solve the mystery of the automaton and find a place he can call home.”⚙️

The Holly Harshman Elementary teachers and staff love reading, book talks, and sharing many of their favorite titles with you.
Mrs Holder has a special connection to the book she chose to share:
“Charlotte’s Web written by E.B. White was the first chapter book that my class ever read when I was in the second grade, and it sparked my love of reading! Now you can enjoy the book and even watch the movie to compare the two! In my opinion, the book will always be better!”
