This morning Mena FFA held a leadership workshop for our members in the high school safe room! Our workshop was facilitated by former Oklahoma FFA State President Braden Burns. Students learned about what the are passionat about and seeing things from other people’s perceptive. In learning this they also did activities that allowed them to experience those things. Thank you Braden for coming and working with our students!!


Bearcat Chorus and Spotlight Singers competed at Choral Performance Assessment on Thursday. Both choirs performed beautifully and made Mena proud!
Spotlight Singers scores qualify them to compete at State CPA in April.

Today is School Bus Driver Appreciation Day !

There was lots of fun at the MMS Science Night!


On Wednesday first year Mena FFA members were initiated during the annual Greenhand Ceremony! Once the ceremony was over Greenhands went into the shop and dipped a hand in green dye solidifying their initiation into FFA.

Mena High School seniors attended the Career Connect event at the Ouachita Center on the campus of UA Rich Mountain on Tuesday. The Career Connect Reverse Career Fair is a joint effort with five area high schools showcasing our seniors to the local employers.

The Mena Bearcats took home the 4A South Regional Wrestling Championship on Saturday! All 13 wrestlers qualified for state! Bearcat Wrestling is doing Great Things! Next stop the State tournament!


The Mena Public Schools presented Sarah Carrell with a certificate of appreciation today as a part of her 90th birthday celebration. Carrell was a longtime employee of the district and continues to serve as a foster grandparent.


Mena High School hosted the Special Olympics Basketball Skills Competition in the Union Bank Center on Friday.

The Mena FFA CDE Teams competed at the AR Alumni Contest in Hot Springs on Thursday.

These contests are preparing our students along with after school practices for our Southern District Contest that is March 12.

Congratulations to Mena High School Cheerleader Kiylee Hughes on being selected as an All-Star Cheerleader. She will be performing at the Arkansas All-Star Basketball game and the Arkansas All-Star Football game June 22nd in Conway.

The steel framing for the new Hensley Activity Center arrived Monday morning. The building is expected to be complete by the start of the 24-25 school year.

Ladycats competed at the 1-5A South Regionals today and overall as a team finished in 6th place in confrence, 5 out of 7 girls qualified for the state tournament! But all of them have shown incredibly growth and improvement!
