The Junior Ladycat Volleyball team members volunteered on Friday at the Green House Cottages for their Olympics!

The Mena Ladycats competed very well at two volleyball team camps this week. Monday, the Ladycats were at Greenwood. The Ladycats beat Charleston, Lavaca, and Mansfield 2 sets to 0. Splitting sets with Russellville and Farmington. Friday, the Ladycats competed at Lakeside. Defeating Mt St Mary's, Bauxite, and Pulaski Academy 2 sets to 0. Splitting sets with Little Rock Christian and losing both sets against Cabot. The Ladycat JV team showed tremendous improvement this summer ending today with wins over Pulaski Academy, Mt St Mary's, and Pulaski Academy.

The Bearcat Free Youth Football Camp on Thursday was well attended.

The Mena Boys won by two strokes at the Waldron Country Club.Teams from Waldron, Mansfield, Booneville, Charleston, and Dardanelle participated.. The Mena Girls also had a good day finishing third.

Mena Public School teachers and employees gathered for the annual convocation and break out day on Wednesday.

The Mena Boys won their opening golf tournament of the season at the DeGray State Park Golf Course on Tuesday. Congratulations to Marcus Graves on being the low round medalist. Mena Golf is back in action on Thursday at the Waldron Country Club.

Mena bus drivers are preparing for the 2024-2025 school year with in-service training today in the Performing Arts Center.

Day 2 of the Little Cats Cheer Camp at the Union Bank Center. The camp continues on Wednesday,Thursday, and Friday.

Day 2 at the Licking Team Volleyball Camp in Branson for the Jr. Ladycats. The season opener is August 22nd when Mena plays Booneville in the Union Bank Center.

Full band rehearsals are happening this week at Mena High School. The band, including the flag line, is preparing for the 2024 marching season.

The Jr. Bearcats hosted the Mena Team Camp on Tuesday at Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium. Teams from Waldron, Cossatot, Mt. Ida, and Ft. Lake Participated. The Jr. Bearcats will scrimmage Mansfield on August 22nd at BCBS and the season opener is on August 29th when they play DeQueen.

The Jr. Ladycats are competing at the Licking Volleyball Camp in Branson Missouri this week. The season begins August 26th when Mena plays Booneville at the Union Bank Center.

The Mena Fire Department will be doing their yearly inspection at all Mena campuses this week. Preparations continue for the 2024-2025 school year that begins August 14th!
