3 Questions With… MHS Senior Elizabeth Williams
Q: What is your favorite thing to do after school and why? A: I spend time with my family and friends, because family is important to me.
Q: How long have you been racing, and why did you start? A: I have only raced a few times. It is my dad that races and that is how I got into racing. I mainly do the mechanic work.
Q: If you could travel back in time and make it back safely, where/what time would you choose? A: I would go back to 2010 and here in Mena to fix some things that had happened to prevent how I am feeling now.


The Mena Ladycats played at Ft. Lake on Tuesday. The Sr. Girls JV won 25-13 & 25-19. The Varsity won 25-19, 26-28, 25-10 & 25-11
With that victory, the Ladycats secured the 4A West Conference Championship and a #1 seed in the 4A State Tournament which begins on Tuesday at Shiloh Christian in Springdale.


The Bearcat & Ladycat cross country teams competed in the 7-4A Comference Meet on Tuesday. All conference performers were Cooper Plunkett, Trevin Plunkett, Connoe Efird & Tre Mcmellon! The Bearcats finished as the district runner-up.

Bearcat Coaches have selected #54, Jordan Roberts, as the Farm Bureau Insurance Player of the Week vs. Ozark.
Jordan is a Senior and plays Defensive Tackle for the Bearcats this season. Jordan had 6 tackles on the night and
2 were for loss of yardage.
Jordan is the son of Chris and Leah Roberts and big brother to sister, Jaden, who is a 9th grader at MHS.
Jordan enjoys hunting, fishing, and just about anything to do with the outdoors. After graduation, he plans
to go to work with his Father and Grandfather, Wes, in the construction business.
This week, Jordan and the Bearcats will travel to take on the 4-4 Dardanelle Sand Lizards. A home field playoff game is
on the line, if Mena can win there and at Lamar in Week #10.

MHS VEIN DRAIN IS OCTOBER 20th !


National School Bus Safety Week was the result of a letter-writing campaign to President Nixon in 1969. Founded by Dick Fischer, a former school district transportation director in California, the first NSBSW was held in 1970. In 1975, the National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) was founded. The NAPT, along with the National School Transportation Association (NSTA) and National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services (NASDPT), hosts National Bus Safety Week each year.


Congratulations to Bailey Benner on making the All Region Jr. High Choir . Bailey is in the 8th grade at Mena Middle School.

The Jr. Ladycats won the 4A West District Tournament Championship on Saturday in Bauxite. Mena defeated Fountain Lake 25-7 / 25-19 & Malvern in the finals 25-22 / 25-11.

Ozark defeated Mena 47-8 on Friday night. The Bearcats have a record of 5-3/3-1 & will play at Dardanelle on Friday 10/22.

The Mena Ladycats defeated Little Rock Mills 3-0 on Thursday. The score was 25-0, 25-2 & 25-10. The Ladycats remain undefeated in conference play & they will play at Fountain Lake on Tuesday. GO LADYCATS !!!


It was not a good night for Mena on Thursday at Bob Carver Bearcats Stadium. Ozark defeated the Jr. High Bearcats by a score of 40-6. Mena will take a 5-3 record into next weeks game when they host Dardanelle.

The 2021 MHS School Play is drawing nearer, as rehearsals and preparations continue toward the November performances of The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood.


Mena High School Theatre III performed BEOWULF for the 12th grade english classes on Thursday at the Performing Arts Center. As always Ms. Kropp & her students delivered an outstanding performance. GO BEARCATS !
