Eight female scholars from Mena Middle School attended the Girls of Promise STEAM conference Friday, April 4th. These young ladies had the opportunity to network with other young STEAM scholars, meet Professional Women in STEAM fields, experiment and create in workshops and enjoy all the Arkansas 4-H Center has to offer. Students in attendance were Avery Cox, Roxanne Ezell, Kenley Cochran, Linda Maechler, Brandi Miller, Kinley Cox, Haidyn Valdovinos, and Raelyn Ashcraft. The band scored a second division excellent rating from all Concert judges and a first division superior rating in Sightreading. Great job Mr. Huffman and the middle school band

The Mena 7th Grade Ladycats and Bearcats competed at the Booneville Relays on Monday. The Ladycats won the the meet and Skylar Bahr took home the High Point Award! Bahr won the 100 yard dash, the 200 yard dash, the 400 yard dash, pole vault, long jump and triple jump. For the Bearcats Bentley Brewer won the 100 yard dash and the long jump.
