
Eight female scholars from Mena Middle School attended the Girls of Promise STEAM conference Friday, April 4th. These young ladies had the opportunity to network with other young STEAM scholars, meet Professional Women in STEAM fields, experiment and create in workshops and enjoy all the Arkansas 4-H Center has to offer. Students in attendance were Avery Cox, Roxanne Ezell, Kenley Cochran, Linda Maechler, Brandi Miller, Kinley Cox, Haidyn Valdovinos, and Raelyn Ashcraft. Teacher chaperones were CTE Teachers; Sarah Billings and Lauren Frost.

Family Fun Science Night was Tuesday at Mena Middle School!


Congratulations to the Mena Middle School Band! Tuesday they traveled to Vanburen to participate in the Region 8 Concert & Sightreading Assessment. The band scored a second division excellent rating from all Concert judges and a first division superior rating in Sightreading. Great job Mr. Huffman and the middle school band


The Mena 7th Grade Ladycats and Bearcats competed at the Booneville Relays on Monday. The Ladycats won the the meet and
Skylar Bahr took home the High Point Award!
Bahr won the 100 yard dash, the 200 yard dash, the 400 yard dash, pole vault, long jump and triple jump.
For the Bearcats Bentley Brewer won the 100 yard dash and the long jump.

We Read Wednesday: Levi is a frequent visitor in our library. He is a reader! He enjoys science fiction and his favorite book is The Big Book of Monsters by Hal Johnson. This is a nonfiction book with information about movie/classic book monsters. We love that our students have a variety of interests!

We Read Wednesday: Mrs Rose, our school counselor, is a reader! She loves self help books and is currently interested in books and magazines about homesteading and growing flowers. Magazines are a great type of reading that can help you learn all kinds of information.

We Read Wednesday: Ms. Shores is our Behavior Interventionist and she loves to read. She is enjoying some nonfiction professional books right now that help her with her job. That is an amazing type of reading! She also loves to read romance and mystery novels.


Progress continues on the renovation and expansion of the concession and restrooms at Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium.

Mena Middle School students competed in the DeQueen Mena Educational Cooperatives Capture The Flag Cybersecurity Event on Thursday. Middle school’s Max Free, William Kilpatrick, Dane Palmer and Zach Horn won 3rd.


Mena Middle School FCCLA, FBLA, Yearbook Staff and Project Prevent Team students spent the day volunteering to ring the bell for the Salvation Army.
