There was lots of fun at the MMS Science Night!
The steel framing for the new Hensley Activity Center arrived Monday morning. The building is expected to be complete by the start of the 24-25 school year.
MMS Leadership class came to teach our 3rd graders leadership games during enrichment!
The MMS Project Prevent Team met Wednesday to plan their spring semester tobacco/nicotine prevention activities and wrapped lunch break by having a campus trash cleanup!

MMS students during ACHIEVE having fun with Magic Carpet Ride, a team building, problem solving and communication activity.
The 7th and 8th grade teams attended the reading fair competition on Thursday. They won 1st and 2nd place.
Cookies and Canvas at MMS Library had a great turnout on Tuesday. Thank you to Mrs. Manasco, Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Rose, and Faith Chaney. It was a wonderful time and we can’t wait to do it again!

The Mena 7th Grade Ladycats and Bearcats will play in the Mansfield Jamboree this Saturday.
Mena Head Coach Craig Bentley released the 2024 football schedule on Thursday. The season begins on Friday, August 30th at DeQueen. The first home game is September 6th against LR Hall. Homecoming will be October 18th and senior night will be October 25th.

Tuesday night was another successful MMS dance. Our next dance will most likely be around Valentine’s Day in February.
The JR Ladycat Basketball team had a great time shopping and wrapping presents for Angel Tree kids Friday night. It was a wonderful team bonding experience.

Our zoom meeting with Kwame Alexander (author of The Crossover) and Judy Blume (author of Fudge) at the Mena MIddle School Library was fantastic! They answered one of our student’s questions and we learned a little about building characters in our writing. The highlight was hearing Kwame read his own writing. Thank you Kwame Alexander!
Mena Middle School student Nathan Williamson competed and won first place in the local 2023-2024 VFW Patriot's Pen youth essay contest. Nathan was awarded $300 by the local Veterans of Foreign Wars. His essay was submitted for the state level competition. Congratulations Nathan!
Mena Middle School Project Prevent Team, FCCLA, FBLA, Yearbook Staff and Student Council members spent the day ringing the bell for The Salvation Army.
