The Mena Jr. Boys fought off a fourth quarter comeback to win on Thursday at the Union Bank Center. Jr. Bearcats - 34 Ft. Lake - 31 The boys improve to 4-4 & are back in action on Monday at DeQueen. GO BEARCATS!!!

The Mena 7th & 8th Grade Choir performed their Christmas concert for the public on Tuesday at the Performing Arts Center. They sang "Jingle Bell Rock", "Run, Run Rudolph" & "Feliz Navidad" for the large crowd. They did a great job busting out those tunes !!!

The Mena 6th Grade Choir performed their Christmas show for the public on Tuesday at the Performing Arts Center. The group performed "Santa Claus is Coming to Town", "Winter Wonderland" & "Let it Go". The students did a fantastic job!

The Jr. High Bearcats played Malvern at the Union Bank Center on Monday. Mena JV Boys - 9 Malvern - 22 Jr. Bearcats - 27 Malvern - 29 Mena is back in action on Thursday when they host Ft. Lake. Games begin at 4:30pm.

December 3, 2021 Yesterday, December 2, 2021, Mena Public School officials were made aware of a potential threat of violence made by two juvenile students in the district. School officials apprehended the students and notified the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. The students have been placed into the custody of the sheriff’s office and are not on campus. School district and sheriff’s office officials are conducting an investigation at this time.

Mena Middle School students from various leadership organizations such as FBLA, FCCLA,Yearbook, Project Prevent, Leadership and Service Learning donated some of their time on Wednesday ringing the bell for Salvation Army.

The Jr. Ladycats played a nail biter on Tuesday in Mena. Jr. Ladycats - 14 Waldron - 16 The Jr. Ladycats are back in action on Thursday in the Union Bank Classic. They will play Dierks at 4:00pm in the Union Bank Center.

MMS Project Prevent Team members spent their lunch on Tuesday spreading the nicotine free message. Members visited the local Humane Society, pet groomers and veterinarian offices. Members shared posters and brochures to encourage pet owners to not smoke around pets.

Christmas lunch details !

Mena bus drivers have reported an increase in the number of vehicles who are passing busses while red lights are flashing. Starting this school year, Arkansas law now requires drivers to stop at least 30 feet behind a stopped school bus. This law applies to drivers in all directions. It applies to roads, streets or highways open to the general public. A driver who breaks the law can be found guilty of a misdemeanor. New Mena School Board Zones have been drawn and the board approved those new zones at their meeting on Tuesday.. According to the latest census Mena’s population now exceeds the 10% minority threshold. This means that board zones will be required in the future. In December, the two at large members from the two zones with two current board members will be determined.

The Mena Jr. Girls played their first home game on Tuesday at the Union Bank Center. Jr. Ladycats - 39 Foreman - 13 Mena improves to 2-3 on the season and will be back in action on Tuesday, November 30th when they host Waldron.
