Monday, December 7 th
I. The 6 th grade Quiz Bowl team will meet right after today’s announcements.
II. From Mr. McCormick: There will be a FFA meeting tomorrow in the Agri building during
ACHIEVE. Meet Mr. McCormick in the Cafeteria after tomorrow’s announcements.
III. Reminders:
Every student aged 10 and older are required to wear a mask while on a bus.
Do not come to school if you have fever or are feeling sick.
The Lost & Found box is full of coats and jackets.

The basketball games at Waldron , which were postponed earlier, will be played on Saturday, Dec 12th starting at 1:00pm. Games will include 7th Grade, Jr. High & Sr. High boys and girls. GO BEARCATS!

Blended & virtual student meals for December 7th - December 11th may be picked up today at Louise Durham Elementary or Mena High School between 1 and 2 pm.
The Mena Jr. Ladycats & Bearcats played at Trinity Christian in Fort Smith Thursday.

Due to the logistics of the bus routes, we are sorry to have to cancel the announcement made at the beginning of the week with Flex Friday meals. We will be sending the meals home on Thursday, until further notice, as we have been doing. The food will be handed out on the bus when your student gets off. Or given to car riders before they are dismissed for the day. We sincerely apologize for any confusion this has caused and look forward to providing your children with meals for Flex Friday.

Thursday, December 3 rd
I. As the numbers of Covid cases rise in our community, our district administration wants to
remind all bus riders ages 10 and over, that you are required to wear your mask at all times
while on a bus.
II. Reminders:
The ball box will be closed today during Lunch “B.”
Do not come to school if you have fever or are feeling sick.
There are only 2 weeks left in the semester. Be sure and finish strong by completing all
work and getting them turned in on time. This is especially important for those of you
working from home.
III. Lunchtime Weather: If it is not raining, we will go outside today but you will need to stay on
the hard surfaces and keep out of the grass.

MMS ANNOUNCEMENTS
Wednesday, December 2 nd
I. Yesterday there was quite a bit of trash left outside after both lunches. If this problem
continues, you will be prohibited from taking food and drinks outside for an indefinite period
of time.
II. Due to the number of footballs and basketballs being left outside during Lunch “B” for the
past few days, the ball box will be locked today and tomorrow, during Lunch “B.” In the
future, if you take a ball outside, it is your responsibility to return it.
III. There is a change to the food distribution that usually takes place on Thursdays for
students that will not be at school on Flex Friday. Instead of getting your meals on
Thursday afternoon, the school will be delivering the meal to your house on Friday, if you
are not at school. During ACHIEVE tomorrow, you will be asked whether or not you are
going to be at school for Flex Friday. If you are unsure, please discuss this with your
parents this evening so that you can give us a firm answer tomorrow.

Flex Friday Meal Changes
Beginning Friday December 4th, Mena Schools will be delivering meals for students participating in Flex Fridays, instead of sending meals home with them on Thursday afternoons.
Congratulations to Mena Middle School Choir students Abbi Koppein, Emily Dodson, and Yennyte Tecson for making All Region Choir. Great job!

Tuesday, December 1 st
I. Mrs. Sims is out today, so there will be no 7 th & 8 th grade Quiz Bowl practice.
II. Reminder: Check the Lost & Found box for any missing coats and jackets. At the end of
the semester, anything left in it will be taken to PCDC. You are encouraged to write your
name inside of you coats and jackets.
III. Reminder: Please do not come to school if you have fever or are not feeling well.
IV. From Mrs. Rose: Thank you to all who completed the “Minute Meeting” last week. The
winners of the prize drawing are Jaxon Green, Avery Montgomery Camden Murphy,
Andrew Schnell, Emmie Owens, Victoria Stearman, Dalton McEntire, and Madyson Dowel.
Winners stop by to see Mrs. Rose to claim your prize. Keep your eyes on the Counselor
Corner Classroom for more fun!

According to Coach Randy Peters the Jr. & Sr. High basketball games scheduled for Tuesday 12/1/20 at Waldron have been cancelled. Also the Sr. High games against Monticello scheduled for Friday 12/4/20 have also been cancelled. The Jr. teams will play Trinity Christian at the UBC on Thursday 12/3 & the Sr. teams will plat at Hot Springs Lakeside on Tuesday 12/8.

Announcements: Monday, November 30 th
I. Welcome back. We have only three weeks left until the end of the 1 st Semester and
Christmas Break. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
1) Your semester grade determines whether or not you pass or fail your classes. Work
hard these last three weeks, complete all of your assignments and turn them in on time.
Finish this semester strong.
2) Stay vigilant in wearing your mask, social distancing, and personal hygiene so we can
keep our campus open through the remainder of the semester.
II. The 6 th grade Quiz Bowl Team will be meeting in the Conference Room right after these
announcements.
III. As the weather starts to cool down, dress appropriately. We will still go outside at lunch,
even on pretty cold days.
IV. The Lost & Found box, located in the Cafeteria, is starting to get full of coats and jackets. If
you are missing one, please look there. At the end of the semester, anything left in it will
