Mena Middle School 7th grader DAX McMELLON competed in the Digital Citizenship MidLevel FBLA State Competition recently. He was recognized for receiving 4th Place overall in the state. Congratulations Dax!

A seventh inning rally by the Bearcats came up short in a 4-6 loss at DeQueen on Tuesday. Blake Brown & Riley Gilbert each threw three innings for Mena. Mena High School Student Council President SAM EFIRD dropped off StuCrew’s donation at Fresh Start Pregnancy Resource Center yesterday! StuCrew decided to keep all fundraisers in our local community this year and we are excited to give back to Polk County!

On Monday and Tuesday, April 5th & 6th, the ninth and tenth grade students at Mena High School will be taking ACT Aspire. If students are here for both days of testing, Wednesday will be a virtual day for those testers.

Parent Tips: How to Help Your Child Prepare for HHE-ACT Aspire Testing On Test Day Make sure your child gets a good night's sleep and eats a healthy breakfast Many teachers report that students who don't do well on tests haven't gotten enough sleep, and haven't eaten breakfast on the morning of the test. Doing both of these things will ensure that your child is working at full capacity. Remain positive Staying calm will help your child stay calm. If she gets nervous about the test or is likely to experience anxiety during the test, help her practice some relaxation techniques that she can try once she's taking the test.

It is very important that your equipment is in working order. If your screen is broken or leaking, it will need to be replaced. Please check your keyboard and your mouse function and see that they are in proper working order or not missing any keys. You will need to charge your chromebook the night before you test. Please do not bring your chromebook to school and expect to be able to sit near an outlet so that you can charge your chromebook while you are taking the Aspire tests. The Spring Gala will be held at CMA Iron Mountain on Saturday, April 24th beginning at 6pm. Tickets are available for purchase from Ms.Hughes. Senior tickets are $15 and Junior tickets are $30. Please purchase tickets ASAP so we can get menu counts.
