For any juniors interested in benign involved in the planning and decorating processes, please go to the library for the meeting. FBLA: State Conference registration money is due to Mrs. Torix TODAY at noon. Registration is $15. If registration is not paid, you cannot compete. Students be sure to place your votes for the Teacher’s Who’s Who ballot, which is part of the 2021 Mena High School yearbook. The ballots are on a Google Form that has been loaded into your Class of Enrichment Google Classrooms. Please vote by the end of the day Tuesday, as results will be pulled Wednesday morning. The HUB is taking applications for the 21-22 school year. If you are an upcoming senior graduating in 2022 and would like to apply for the HUB program, please fill out an application and return them to Mrs. Threlkeld in the HUB, Room 111. If you plan to work your senior year and would like to attend The HUB, please also fill out the AE JAG application form. Applications and HUB expectations were emailed to the Class of 2022 students on Tuesday. Please email Mrs. Threlkeld or stop by Room 111 with any other questions. MHS blood drive on Wednesday March 10th. Please come to see Nurse Bobbi to choose your donation time! For any students who are still interested in purchasing a Senior shirt or an Underclassmen shirt, please see Mr. Philpot in room 205. There are limited sizes available that can be purchased for $15 with cash or check. If you are interested in the EF international trip go to you “class of” page to find out how to attend the information meeting or see Ms. Catlett, Ms. Hooker, Mrs. Hoyle, or Ms. Kropp. This Wednesday is the cheer candidate meeting during Enrichment. Please meet in the Library after announcements. Due to having to postpone the candidate meeting last week, this pushes back the parent meeting to NEXT Wednesday. From Mrs. Sikes: Our Mena Middle School FBLA members represented our school very well!  We had 5 1st place winners, 3 2nd place winners, 4 3rd place winners, and 1 4th place winner. Trinaty Richmond, Kate Wilson, Makenzie Vega, and Dax McMellon have the opportunity to compete at the state level in the Business Math & Financial Literacy competition and the Digital Citizenship competition. Other winners were Eli Swall, Max Rocha, Isabel Vacca, Christian Staggs, and Stella Smith. Congratulations to our FBLA Team! IV. The game will be at 3:30 now instead of 6 on Saturday at Nashville  Mena Ladycat Basketball will play in the 7-4A Tournament Finals on Saturday at Nashville. Mena defeated Arkadelphia in the semi-finals by a score of 45-19. Nashville defeated DeQueen in the other semi-final game 65-35. Mena & Nashville split their two previous meetings this season. Tip-off was scheduled for 6:00pm.but has been changed to 3:30pm.

This week is National Through with Chew Week. MMS Project Prevent team set up an information/prevention booth today at lunch. Team member Kinley read off chew tobacco facts encouraging her peers to choose to be tobacco free. Students were given the opportunity to sign a banner as a pledge to "Pick"le to be Through with Chew. Students who made the pledge were given a pickle. Close to 300 pledges to stay tobacco free were made. Special Thanks to team member Kili for making the cool banner.

The Mena Ladycats will host Arkadelphia in the semi-finals of the district tournament on Thursday. Arkadelphia defeated Ft. Lake 62-45 on Tuesday to advance. The game will be played at the Union Bank Center with tip-off set for 6:00pm. Vouchers for tickets are normally given on the day of the game at the administration building but tickets for this game will be sold at the door & no vouchers will be needed.
