Lunch Today: Chicken Fried Steak, Chicken Sandwich, Pizza, Pasta Line
We have Gatorade, Water, Chips, Beef Jerky and Rice Krispy Treats that are available for purchase if you have money in your lunch account.
Students you must get a juice and/or fruit at breakfast.
Students, please remember, you have to have money in your account to buy extras. Do not get extras unless you pay for it first.
Students are not to be in the hallways during Lunch A or Lunch B. The library, cafeteria, or patio are available areas during lunch.

If you would like to donate blood there is a sign up sheet in the nurse's office. The blood drive is Tuesday Oct 1.
Be sure to order your yearbook at the lowest price of $48 before October 1. You can also get four free icons when personalize your cover with your name and office or from any Bearcat Foundation member. To go plates are available also.
Seniors and Parents of Seniors: Be sure to order a full page senior ad in the 2020 MHS Yearbook by Tuesday, October 1, to take advantage of the Early Bird Special. By ordering a full page senior ad by October 1, you save $100 off the regular price.
Girls can sign up for a Powder Puff Football Tournament in Ms.Hobson’s room. Each class will have a team and compete against each other on November 4th. The cost is $3 to play and all proceeds go to Relay for Life.
Let Mrs. Thacker know if you want to take the PSAT test. The cost of the test is $12 unless you are on free/reduced lunches--then, it is free. It is a pre-SAT and the only way to qualify to be a National Merit Scholar. Please let me know by this Friday. The test is Oct. 16.
Spirit Week is September 30 - October 4 Dress up days are as follows. PLEASE make sure your spirit outfits are school appropriate and respectful or you will be asked to change.

There will be a Homecoming Parade Wednesday along Mena Street beginning at 5:30pm. HoCo Car Bash and Bonfire will immediately follow in the high school parking lot.
There will be a Homecoming Dance after the game next Friday night in the Middle School cafeteria. It will cost $5 and ends at 11:30pm.
-The first art club meeting will be this today during Enrichment. This meeting is a free meeting, you do not need to have paid your dues to attend. You can pay dues anytime with me, Ms. Hoyle in room 404.
Teachers and Students, let’s get the classroom doors decorated for Spirit Week. Please have doors completed by Monday afternoon.
The first NEHS meeting is Wednesday, October 2 in Room 207, Mrs. Neufeld’s room. Current members and those who expressed interest in NEHS during the Club Fair should attend the meeting.

Blood Drive Tuesday!
The Mena Basscats competed in the Trader Bills High School Bass Tournament on Sunday. Austin Johnston and Cason Cannon took 2nd place in the Senior high division. The Basscats will be back in action next weekend on Millwood Lake.
The Mena Sr Girls played in a tournament at Lakeside today. The Ladycats defeated Lake Hamilton and Pottsville 2-0 in pool play. Split with Marion 1-1 in pool play. The Ladycats tied for 1st in their pool & advanced to the gold bracket as the 2 seed. Mena fell to Lakeside, the eventual tournament champion, 2-0. The girls will play at Shiloh on Monday..
The Mena Cross Country Team ran in the "Today's Bank Mansfield Invitational" Saturday. The top finishers for Mena were Allison Bates & Logan Myers.

The Jr Ladycats played in the Jessieville Tournament on Saturday. The varisty won the championship in the Gold bracket against Batesville Southside. The JV won the championship in the silver bracket against Christian Ministries Academy. Go Ladycats!

The Mena volleyball teams played at Malvern Thursday... The Sr high jv won 2-0 & the Sr high varsity won 3-0.. The Sr. Ladycats play in a tournament at Lakeside on Saturday... GO LADYCATS!!!

Tomorrow is the last day to order Homecoming Shirts! The cost is $15 for size S-XL and $17 for size 2X-4X. Order in Ms.Hobson’s room and you must pay when you order.

Anyone who would like to join FBLA needs to bring their dues of $15 to Mrs. Lindsey in room 202 or Mrs. Torix in room 401 anytime. FBLA is open to anyone in grades 9-12 and we welcome all students! It’s not too late to go to FBLA Fall Conference (but it is too late to get a conference t-shirt). See Mrs. Lindsey for a permission slip today. The conference is on Monday, September 30.

The Mena Tennis Team Continued to rack up the wins Tuesday when they hosted Booneville at McMillan Park. Stephanie Lua & Marissa Ortiz won their doubles match & each won in singles as well...Eli Cook & Wilson Hughes as well as Luke Montgomery & Brendon Brown won in doubles play. Will Davis, Austin Rose, Cook & Hughes also won their singles matches. A pair of matches were rained out near the end of the day.. The team will play again on Tuesday, October 1st at DeQueen..
