Reminders:

Parent / Teacher Mid-Term Conferences are one week from tomorrow.
Students in Lunch “B” – There were 3 cafeteria trays, 2 styrofoam trays, and some trash left outside yesterday around the benches. Thanks to a few kind students who picked them up, you only get a reminder today. The next time this is an issue, all phone / personal device use will be prohibited at lunch for an indefinite period of time.
Several of you have noticed that on these sunny days, the bees and yellow jackets are present outside. Leave them alone and they will leave you alone.

We have Gatorade, Water, Chips, Beef Jerky and Rice Krispy Treats that are available for purchase if you have money in your lunch account.
Students you must get a juice and/or fruit at breakfast.
Students, please remember, you have to have money in your account to buy extras. Do not get extras unless you pay for it first.
Students are not to be in the hallways during Lunch A or Lunch B. The library, cafeteria, or patio are available areas during lunch.

November 6, Sci-Fi Club meeting in the room 206 during Enrichment.
November 7, FBLA Meeting in Room 203 during Enrichment.
The 2019 SAU Creative Writing Festival will be this Friday, November 8. For students who submitted writings by the deadline, permission letters for the trip will be distributed during Enrichment today when Mr. Philpot meets with these students.
AE is hosting a food drive for God’s Feeding Hands Ministry through November 15. If your Enrichment class elects to participate, please bring a canned good to your Enrichment class. The class that donates the most, will receive a pizza party provided by AE. Currently, Mrs. Jackson’s class is in the lead for the second week in a row.
BFI is selling custom Ladycat Hoodies for $38. Deadline to order is Friday, November 8th. See Ms.Hobson to order.
There will be a quick Art Club Picture for the yearbook Wednesday (November 6th) during Enrichment is being rescheduled due to the ASVAB. Please keep an eye on the announcements for new date.
Ms. Standridge's class is in the food drive lead! They have donated 51 cans! We have two more weeks left to donate! Your class could still win!
If you need help signing up for December ACT, go to counseling center during enrichment today.
All Juniors will be taking the ASVAB on Wednesday starting at 8:15.


Brenna Aynes & Hannah Stockton led the Junior team to a 14-0 Win over the Seniors to claim Powder Puff Championship!
Mena High School FCCLA is hosted the game to raise money for Relay for Life.

At the end of these announcements, all 8th graders will be meeting with Mrs. Rose in the Cafeteria.

From Mr. Goodnight: 8th graders that sold for FFA - your product will be ready to pick up today after school until 6pm. The top seller this year was Claire Walston with Lacey Floyd placing 2nd.

FFA Meat order pick-up will be Nov.4 (Monday) from 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm @ the Agri.Building. All students who sold FFA meat products must pick up orders on this date. This date has changed from the original date which was Nov. 5th.

Mena improved to 7-2 / 4/2 with a 41-0 win over Subiaco Friday night. The Bearcats will play their last regular season game at Dardanelle next week. GO BEARCATS!

Tommy Johnson's 8th grade History class at Mena Middle School held a Constitution Poster Event on Friday, November 1st in the library. Ms. Cortez Copher and Ms Shelly Collins from the James K. Polk Chapter of the DAR were invited to come see the posters and visit with students. The students had previously studied the United States at the end of the Revolutionary War as well as the US Constitution.and the Bill of Rights. The students participated in discussions and exercises that emphasized the freedoms outlined in the Constitution and the impact on our society today. The posters displayed the rights and freedoms enjoyed by generations of Americans. In the top picture is Mrs. Cortez Copher & winners Sophie Brewer, Katrina Dixon, Jocelyn Baird, Mary Collins & Tommy Johnson. Not pictured is Sophia Vacca.

I. There is football tonight at Bearcat Stadium as Mena will be hosting the Subiaco Trojans. Unless
we host a playoff game, this will be the last home game of the season. Recognition of Seniors will
take place at 6:30, followed by kickoff at 7:00.
II. If you plan to turn in a Red Ribbon Week poster to Mrs. Rose, you have until the end of the day
today. Winners will be announced on Monday.
III. Daylight Savings Time ends this weekend. Before you go to bed Saturday night, make sure your
clocks are set back one hour.

The Jr. High Bearcats defeated Broken Bow at Bearcat Stadium Thursday night by a final score of 22-14. Mena will play their final game of the season at Pottsville Tuesday. The 7th grade Bearcats were also in action & lost 0-14.. GO BEARCATS!
