Mena High School Pep Rally! Friday, September 15th!
Claire Williamson and Bridgette Martin with the Polk County Cooperative Extension Service presented a program on hydration to Louise Durham Elementary students on Friday and encouraged them to drink more water.
The Holly Harshman Elementary RISE Assembly was Friday morning. It was explained to students how the RISE philosophy should effect them on a daily basis.

HHE Great Teammate Award winners for this week are Kealin Austin, Karysn Tinnell, Averie McBride, Eliza Johnson, and Koleman Goodnight.
These students demonstrated a positive attitude, reliability, helpfulness, and willingness to learn.
The boys will be water boys for the Sr High football game on the 15th, and the girls will be captains for the Ladycat volleyball team on Thursday the 21st or cheering on the football sideline on the 15th.
Mena Cross Country competed at the Tom Stuthard Stampede on Tuesday. Check the results when they are posted at the link below.

5th grader Emmaly Dominquez and 3rd grader Faith Grogan were
captains for the Ladycat volleyball team on Monday the 11th. Emmaly and Faith were the most recent winners of the Holly Harshman Elementary Teammate Award.
The Mena Bearcats were winners at the Desoto Golf Course on Monday and Rhett Brotherton was the medalist.
Mena Golf is back in action today at the Little Creek Country Club in Ratcliff at 4:00pm.
The Mena Ladycats played Paris on Monday in the Union Bank Center. The Ladycats lost 2-3.

For week two the coaches chose Addison Thomas for the Matt Thomas State Farm player of the week! Addison is a Junior outside hitter for the Ladycat’s. She loves to get up and smash the ball but is also great at scrambling to keep a volley going. Early on this season Coach Lyle has been coaching her up on her off speed game to help her become a more complete package. She had a great week 2 with the off speed game. Help me congratulate Addison Thomas on a job well done!

Mena Middle School Project Prevent Team participated in the Statewide Zoom meeting today. Members opened the starter kit and planned events and activities for the year
The Matt Thomas State Farm week 1 player of the week is Senior Libero Jocelyn Hernandez! Jocelyn has has been doing an excellent job holding down the back row with great passing and exciting digs. Help me congratulate Jocelyn on a job well done.
