Louise Durham Elementary wrapped up Read Across America week on Friday. Students were able to exceed their reading goal and as a reward were allowed to pie Mr. Black, Mr. Rose and Mrs. Williams.

Mena Preschool had a fun week celebrating Read Across America!


Mena Middle School student Bryant Thomas placed 1st in the division IV-8th grade Mena Elks Americanism Essay Contest. He was awarded a certificate and a $50 Wal-Mart gift card. His essay will advance to the state competition. Sammy Fagan and Brayden Wilson were presented with a certificate of participation for their outstanding essays. Thank you to the Mena Elks and Phyllis Caldwell for the opportunity for our students to share their talents.

The Spotlight Singers received 1st Division rating at Choral Performance Assessment on Wednesday. They will be going to compete at State CPA in April!

Congratulations to our 5th & 6th grade Quiz Bowl team! They placed 1st in the Murfreesboro Tournament today! 🥇
Brady was our top scorer today with FIFTY•SIX! Katy with 22, and Talen with 20. I’m so proud of these kiddos. They played their hearts out and it payed off!
