
This is Homecoming Week at Mena High School and we will be introducing the the maids to you this week. Beginning with the Fresman maids.

Jayden is the daughter of Chris and Aarika Cox. She is a member of FCCLA, FBLA, FCA, and UCS. Jayden plays for the Junior Ladycat Volleyball team, is on the Junior Track team and is also a member of the Ladycat Softball team. She has had the privilege of serving as a State Youth Activation Committee Member for Special Olympics Arkansas and is a member of the Crossing Refuge Youth Group and Worship team. Kate Wilson, escorted by Junior Bearcat, Luke Floyd
Kate is the daughter of Dr. Philip and Kristi Wilson. She is a member of FCCLA, FBLA, and FCA. Kate also plays on the Junior Ladycat Volleyball and Basketball teams and is a member of the Crossings Refuge Youth Group. She has had the privilege of competing at the State level for FBLA and being elected as a MHS Student Council Representative for her class. Kate has also enjoyed volunteering for the Special Olympics. Freshman Maid, Kate Wilson.
The Queen will be crowned in a ceremony that begins at 6:00pm this Friday at Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium.

It was a good day for the Jr. Ladycats on Saturday. The girls won the Paris Tournament with a 2-1 win over Harding Academy in the championship game GO LADYCATS!!!


Saturday was the Mena Beginning Band Bootcamp. The Mena Bearcat Band Members spent the morning teaching the 6th graders how to assemble and play their instruments.


Mena Middle School and Mena High School teachers attended the ASMSA Computer Science Equity Summit on Saturday. Their main focus is to bring computer science equity to our rural youth and get girls interested in the field.


The Mena Bearcats won another close one Friday at Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium. A 31-28 win over Lincoln. Mena improves to 2-1 heading into homecoming week. The homecoming ceremony will begin at 6:00pm and the opponent will be Pocola OK.

Bridget Martin with the UA Extension service in Mena spoke to Holly Harshman students on Friday about hygiene & hydration.


The Sr. Ladycats played Camden Fairview in a double header on Thursday at the Union Bank Center. Mena won the first match
25-11/25-12/25-11.. The Ladycats won the second match 3-0 as well.
Mena will be back in action on September 12th at Paris.

Congratulations to our Mena Middle school Students that have perfect attendance for the school year!! Students received a free pass to the back to school dance tonight at 6:00 pm!

Members of the Mena FFA had a great time at Home Life Academy on Wednesday. The group took some of their show animals and also planted seeds and other agriculture activities

The Cardiac Cats almost pulled another one out of the fire on Friday at Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium. Mena scored with under a minute to go in the game but failed on the two point conversion.
The Bearcats have a record of 1-1 heading into next weeks game against Lincoln at BCBS.
