Holly Harshman Elementary held an assembly on Friday morning to recognize their class ambassadors for this school year. An ambassador is someone who embodies the school he or she represents. Ambassadors will have the responsibility of greeting news students and helping them acclimate to their new school. They will also help with activities and interact with visitors among other duties. It was a good day for Mena Golf at the District Match played at the Magellan Golf Couse. The Ladycats finished as the runner and Bearcat Evan Leonard qualified for the state match.

Grandparents Week continues at Holly Harshman Elementary. Grands are on campus during library time to read and spend time with our students.

Mena Middle School recently held Student Council Elections. Mena Volleyball faced Mansfield on Monday at the Union Bank Center. The 7th grade Ladycats lost 0-3.. The Jr. High JV lost 1-2 and the Jr. Ladycats won 2-0... Mena is back in action on Tuesday at Lakeside. https://www.menaschools.org/o/athletics/athletics?filter_ids=20083

Mena finished first in their pool at Saturday's Jr. Ladycat Classic.. They went on to beat Arkadelphia in the gold bracket semi-finals. Then lost to Hackett in the championship. The Ladycats are back in action Monday when they host Mansfield at 4:30pm.

The Cardiac Cats strike again. Mena built a 21 point second half lead but had to hold on for a 35-34 win over Pocola OK. on Friday. A large crowd was on hand for the Homecoming game and those in attendance definitely got there moneys worth. The Mena High School 2022 Homecoming Queen will be crowned in a ceremony on Friday night at 6:00pm in Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium. A lot of preparation goes into this event and those participating were put thru their paces on Thursday morning during the ceremony practice..

The Juniors defeated the defending champs to win the annual Powder Puff Bowl on Wednesday at Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium. A goal line stand as time expired preserved the 14-8 win over the Seniors.

Wednesday was Grandparent Day at Louise Durham Elementary. Several were on campus reading to students including this group in Courtney Warren's class.

Pre-K grandparents took advantage of a great opportunity on Wednesday. Those who responded to the invitation came to Louise Durham Elementary to read to their grandkids and other students. Thank you to everyone who made Grandparents Day at LDE so much fun.

This is Homecoming Week at Mena High School and we will be introducing the maids to you. Today it's the junior maids., Shantal Tecson is the daughter of Archer and Herlin Tecson. She is a member of FBLA, FCCLA, and NEHS. Shantal serves her class as an elected Student Council Member and is on the Varsity Sideline Cheerleading team. She is a member of the St. Agnes Youth Group. Shantal has had the privilege of being selected as an All-American Cheerleader, she qualified for and competed at the National FBLA Conference in Chicago this summer, and has earned her Academic Letter and Bar. Sophia Vacca is the daughter of Scott and Ashley Vacca. Sophia is a member of the Yearbook Staff, FBLA, FCCLA, and NEHS, and is also the Junior Class Student Council President. Sophia plays on the Ladycat Soccer team and is a member of the Varsity Sideline Cheerleading team. She is active in her youth group at St Agnes Catholic Church. Sophia has also earned her Academic Letter and Bar. The Queen will be crowned in a ceremony that begins at 6:00pm this Friday at Bob Carver Bearcat Stadium.
